Proposal for: Trans Hub Project – Web Development
Location: Remote
Timeline: November – December 2021
Reporting to: APTN RFP Submission
Deadline: 07 November 2021 22 November 2021
About us:
The Asia and Pacific Transgender Network (APTN) was launched in 2009, with transgender people from various Asia and the Pacific countries acoming together to champion the health, legal and social rights of trans people. Over the years, APTN has worked to build relationships with trans communities, organisations, governments, healthcare providers and other key stakeholders throughout the region. APTN’s work, reports and publications have helped guide social policy reform and human rights advances for trans people in many countries in the region. APTN is a leader in advocating for the health and rights of trans and gender diverse people throughout Asia and the Pacific.
Background:
APTN will establish an online learning hub/platform to host trans health specific information in the Asia Pacific Region, such as a map/directory of trans-competent and trans-friendly healthcare providers, our Trans Health and Rights Modules, and community resources including our Trans COMP CBM Tools, and Trans Health Factsheets. This site will serve as a knowledge sharing, learning and training platform for healthcare providers, outreach workers, trans peer providers, trans health activists, and community members themselves.
APTN will create a directory of trans-competent and trans-friendly healthcare providers, across all disciplines. This map will be a useful resource for community members themselves to find providers in their area, particularly for HIV and sexual health services, mental healthcare, and gender-affirming care.
APTN’s online health hub/learning platform will be hosted in a different domain from APTN’s website, and will be modeled after successful learning hubs including ACON’s Trans Hub (a platform for all trans and gender diverse people in NSW, their loved ones, allies and health providers). Given the dearth of information in regards to trans health needs and issues in the region, APTN’s own learning hub will address the gaps in knowledge, trainings, and resources on transgender health specific to this region.
Objectives:
The APTN online “Trans hub” platform will allow the different audiences and communities to have better online access to multiple and valuable resources curated by both APTN and the community itself. In this early first version we will initially focus on the Health module, providing the user access to our Trans Health and Rights e-learning modules (EL) and the Trans Health Directory (THD). We plan to do a controlled launch just for our selected users, as we want to collect specific feedback from our partners before our planned public launch later on next year.
Scope of Work:
The service provider will work closely with the APTN team to build the website hub platform from the ground up, covering setting up the website and domain, adding core pages, the EL module and THD module.
The Design work will be done in coordination with the Designer and sign off will be required before proceeding to development. The service provider will work in coordination with the APTN team to integrate the Information Architecture for the website, with a list of all pages, sections, subsections, and general functionality. This includes things like navigation, head/footer, and page by page goals & structure planning. Hosting will be sourced and set up for the requested domain following APTN team instructions. Maintenance of the website will fall to APTN at the conclusion of the project.
