The Annual Report for 2022 by the Asia Pacific Transgender Network (APTN) is a reflection of our unwavering dedication to advancing the rights, well-being, and empowerment of transgender individuals across the Asia Pacific region.
After careful deliberation with the team, we have decided that the theme of “Reimaginating our Future” truly embodied our journey in the year of 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us in a number of ways, but our fight for rights and visibility never waivered.
These were years of recovery, collective reconnection, and ones where we strived to stay true to our strategies and values despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic. It is through the collective efforts between APTN and our larger communities that we can reimagine and strive towards a world for trans and gender-diverse people to live in.
This report captures our journey throughout the challenging year of 2022, highlighting our achievements and ongoing initiatives in alignment with our six core pillars: Advocacy, Leadership Building, Health, Research, Strategic Information, and Governance and Organisational Strengthening.
