Understanding experiences of Transgender persons under expanding militarism

This report provides a glimpse into the increasing militaristic state control in India and the impact it has on transgender persons. It is based on qualitative research conducted in the cities of Delhi and Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Through this report, we have tried to highlight the specific impact of militaristic state control, manifested in the form of increase in police, paramilitary and civil police force; surveillance technologies and the use of sections from the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), on the transgender community.
