Sexual Health Survey for Transgender Women and Men Who Have Sex with Men in Thailand and Vietnam

APCOM and Asia Pacific Transgender Network (APTN) are part of a working group for a new regional survey exploring the values and preferences of PrEP products among men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TGW). The survey is a partnership between WHO, UNAIDS, FHI 360, PATH and IHRI and our research partners the Kirby Institute, UNSW and Monash University.

New long-acting PrEP products are becoming available (such as long-acting injectable cabotegravir) that will offer the community choice and have the potential to increase PrEP availability and uptake. We’re conducting the survey in 17 countries in Asia and the Pacific, including Thailand and Vietnam, to understand the values and preferences of key population communities. We intend for this to support improved PrEP programs and guidelines. It will also provide evidence to advocate for new products to be available for our communities. Ultimately, we hope this will support efforts to reduce new HIV infections.
